We are so pleased that our running club; GAjoggers, now has forty children attending. As a result, we now have two sessions on Fridays.
Key Stage 1 - 4.00 - 4.45pm
Key Stage 2 – 4.45 - 5.45pm
We have some places available for the KS1 session if your child would like to attend.
Our training sessions are fun with a combination of fitness games and run sessions to help develop stamina and endurance. We have links with Junior Parkrun and the Great Run Local at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic park and will register our pupils in a number of special events throughout the year. We encourage parents to come along and join in and hope that in 2019 we will be able to encourage more parental participation.
Our coaches, Miss Page (an England Athletics qualified Run Leader) and Mr Lewis (an England Athletics qualified Running Coach) can sign post any parent who may be interested in a ‘Couch to 5K’ programme with viewtube runners based in the Stratford Community Track. So if interested, please talk to Mr Lewis.
The club was set up in 2013 by Mrs Worrell-Jude with the help of local England Athletics running coach Mr Lewis. Initially is was primarily for parents with accompanied children welcome.
As the club grew it took part in several events but it became clear the adults needed harder training, so they largely joined viewtube runners [some still come after 7 years] and the children got their own club.
